Hi, I'm Andy! I am a local Portland, Oregon event planner with over 16 years of diverse event experience and 7 years of wedding experience. Double A is my name, Andy Anthony, and it's also the boundless energy I bring to my work.
With this philosophy in mind, I founded Double A Weddings & Events, and I’ll work tirelessly to guarantee that your event will be filled with unforgettable moments. I specialize in non-traditional and queer weddings and enjoy those celebrations the most, but I also welcome the traditional and have worked my fair share of those as well! I believe that weddings should be FUN and that you should get to relax and enjoy such a momentous occasion. I love nothing more than making your special day perfect, to take the burden off you so you can just enjoy.
I fully believe that there is no wrong way to do a wedding and your wedding should represent YOU and so I will provide my expertise and guidance while following your lead and respecting your vision. Whether you want to craft the most nontraditional nuptials ever or you want to go all tradition all the way, I'll be there to support you and make it happen. In the planning process, I'm a team of one, but I do use coordination assistants on event days.
A little bit about me personally: Big Virgo energy! I have degrees in Marketing and English & Writing and enjoy proofreading like the huge dork that I am! I'm a former ballerina/dancer and theater kid with a love of singing and dancing my butt off. I’m a lifelong swimmer, former lifeguard and swim teacher, and, when I’m not working at a wedding, I can often be found swimming laps at the pool. Star Wars is basically my religion, and I'm almost always reading SW novels, but I do also enjoy other sci-fi or fantasy like LOTR and, of course, Doctor Who. I'm a SoCal girl, born and raised, with the Valley Girl accent to prove it, but I've been in Portland, OR for over 14 years and have zero plans to ever leave. My partner and I live in NE Portland with our two cats, Loki and Freya.

Office Hours
In general, I keep office hours Monday through Friday, 10am to 6pm.
I am typically unavailable (outside of events and site visits) on weekends.
I do not take Monday meetings. During wedding season (roughly May through October), I take Mondays off to compensate for weekend work and rest. Outside of wedding season, I use Mondays as an office organization day and will be reachable by email.
As is the nature of events life, this is subject to change due to site visits, wedding rehearsals, and events.
However, I am always happy to work around my clients' schedules when I can and will do my best to make time for you outside of office hours with enough notice. Note: I am not a morning person, so evenings are way more possible than early mornings.
