Four Items Nearlyweds Often Forget to Plan for On The Big Day

Any wedding planner will tell you that weddings are all about the many details, not just the things that guests may or may not notice which make the day run smoothly, but also all the necessary little things people often just don't think about and so often forget when it comes to their Big Day! So here are four items this planner has seen often nearlyweds forget when planning weddings:
Cake Server Set

If you're cutting a cake at your wedding, you'll need a server set to cut it with, but this is an item that is often overlooked. If you care about what the knife and server looks like in photos, you'll want to make sure to get something you like and you can either buy a set and keep it or rent one with your other dinnerware rentals. If you don't super care about the aesthetics, ask your catering team if they have a set you can borrow, but don't assume they'll bring one, so definitely ask ahead of time so they include it on the Banquet Event Order (BEO).
Extra Batteries
Are you planning to have one of the popular Polaroid guest books? Or maybe you have flameless candles to run all evening? Or anything else that is battery operated? Have some extra batteries on hand just in case! If you have a wedding planner, they'll likely have extras of common battery types in their kit, but I think it's a good idea to plan for the types you know you'll need. Best case, you don't need them! But nothing is worse than that camera running out of batteries and then no more guest book that you worked so hard to put together.
Pens

There are two places where pens are often
necessary at a wedding and nearlyweds overlook: signing the marriage license and for signing a guest book (if they have a guest book or guest book alternative). If you have a professional officiant, they'll likely bring a nice pen, but I've never seen a friend/family officiant do so. Some people care about what the pen looks like for photos or sometimes the type of pen or ink color matters, especially if a guest book is a certain color or material and so finding a random pen to fill in may not suffice! If either of those things apply to you, don't forget the pens.
Vendor Tips/ Gratuity
Now, ask any of my clients and they'll tell you that I always stress that vendor tips, while always appreciated, are never required (except often in catering and, in that case, it will be included on the BEO), so I'm not talking about those who've opted not to tip their vendors. I'm talking about those who do plan on tipping, but totally forget to put the tips together or simply forget them at home. It happens a lot! It's a busy, stressful time, so it's totally understandable that tips get forgotten! But if you don't want to forget, put the amounts in your budget, get cash out early, seal it up in labeled envelopes, and have your planner or coordinator (or someone you trust) hand them out on the day.
Those are the most common items I see get forgotten on weddings days! What item or items did you forget for your wedding?
